Holy Week Good Friday Service

The Holy Week is the week where we remember the sufferings, the death and the resurrection of Jesus that changed history completely. Although celebrating the day and reading about Jesus is great, it is more valuable to have a personal experience with the one we have been reading about. A personal experience brings Jesus to life, and the proof of our experience is that we can share the love of Jesus with our neighbors and our friends. The day our eyes become open to what Jesus did, we will not be quiet and will tell it loud.

The death of Jesus was an eternal and timeless sacrifice that changed the course of history permanently. We must look at the passion of Christ as a biblical prophecy and include ourselves as the subject of it. For God commanded his love towards us, that Christ died while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). In fact, if there was just one man on earth, Jesus would still have died. The love of Jesus separates a man from the crowd and treats him as an individual.

The value of a thing is understood in the price that is paid for it. The person that knows the true worth of a soul is Jesus. He knew the exact price to pay for us and was willing to sacrifice his own life to show creation how valuable man was to him. The story of Good Friday is the story of a deity coming on the earth and breaking through the protocols to be able to show the world the true value of what he created. A man’s worth is whatever the blood of Jesus is worth.

Men should never see themselves as worthless or a non-entity because if we were, the creator would not have come to exchange himself for us. the coming of Jesus on the earth was for the redemption of humankind, and the systems that govern our lives. Jesus came because sin had posed a problem on the earth. Jesus also came to correct sickness, which is a direct child of sin. The bible also states that the wage of sin is death, and sickness causes death (Romans 6:23). Death is a child that is born from the nature of sin because man was never meant to die. The bible says that he that believes in me, though he died shall live (John 11:25).

Jesus came to exterminate the elements that sin introduced into humanity. These elements include sickness, death, decay, limitations, and curses. If a man believes in the work of Jesus on the cross he will not just go to heaven, he will have an eternal advantage upon the earth. The Lord Jesus becomes our companion and our friend and confidant.

Men were condemned to die because of sin. We were left exposed with no hope, but man was never created to exist without God. Every man that exists on the earth without a relationship with Jesus Christ is a walking dead. For in him we live (Acts 17:28). Man cannot exist without the person of Jesus.  Without the shedding of blood is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9: 22).

There was a law that when Adam sinned and disobeyed God, the earth left its course. “You shall not eat of this fruit, for the day you eat it, thou shall surely die (Genesis 2:17).  Death in this context was speaking of an eternal separation between man and God. If we refer back to the scripture in (Hebrews 9:22), it states that the law requires everything requiring cleansing be cleansed with blood. This is because (Leviticus 17:11) states that the life of the flesh is in the blood.  The law requires that if a man or thing be cleansed, it must be cleansed with another life. It is a life for a life. Also, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Therefore, for forgiveness to be, there must be the shedding of blood.

The original sacrifices did not eradicate sin, they only brought remission. Similar to this, there are medications on the earth that deal with symptoms but do not offer a cure. These things manage but do not solve the problem. God was not looking for a temporal fix because man would sin and through the principle of blood be forgiven, but it was not only man that was condemned by the consequences of sin. The systems of man were affected also, and it still would be possible for the children coming behind those men to sin.

If a lion is roaming around a man’s estate, closing the door does not eternally fix the problem of the lion. Therefore, Jesus wanted to deal with the problem of sin eternally. God did not send Jesus for a quick fix from sin. The work of Christ was not to give man a remedy for when he sins. God was after sin as a whole and to be able to declare that no man would go to hell on account of sin.

Everyone that goes to hell goes because they refused the work of the finished work of God because the work of Christ on the cross was an eternal destruction for sin. The problem is that there are many that are subscribed to the life of church and not of God, therefore they can still continue sinning. A man that is truly subscribed to the life Christ cannot sin because the sin factor has been dealt with eternally by the blood of Jesus. You can walk out on the devil anytime.

Many were Gentiles headed for destruction. In fact, there was an eternal discrimination that excluded many from being partakers of the promise. By birth many were considered Gentile nations, but because of what Jesus did the veil was torn, making God available to all. We then all became the seeds of Abraham by faith, and partakers of the glory and Kingdom of God.

For by grace are men saved through faith, and not of themselves. It is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). We are all grace mates because what saved us all was grace. All men have received a measure of grace. Jesus came to be the abolishment of sin (1 John 3: 7- 9). For the purpose of sin was the son of God made manifest that he may destroy the works of the devil.

No one who is born of God will continue to sin because God’s seed remains in him. He has been born of God. The death of Jesus was to abolish sin. Therefore, everyone that comes to God through the work of Christ has automatically been given authority over the it. Sin has therefore been reduced to a nature instead of enslavement.

Sin can be defined as missing the mark, which is the standard of God’s word. When men subscribe to that nature of sin, they begin to operate in sinful lusts. The problem of sin has been handled, but men go to hell simply for not believing that Jesus has done it, and paid the price to set men free. Righteousness begins with an awareness. Everything that God says not to do in the word is not for him. It is for the benefit of man. It complicates our lives and destroys our focus when we disobey the word of God.

When we read the bible and see the laws of God, we must first principally think that this affects “me”, not God. For everyone that misses the mark and enjoys missing it, you can see the fruit of disobedience in their lives. It does not reduce God. Things said in the word are for our good and not to for God to make himself more powerful. Avoiding sin is more than just about missing heaven. The eternal value of the death of Christ was for believers to live a victorious life on the earth. And have an existence worth living.

The instructions of God are for our survival, not because he does not want us to enjoy. God knows the eternal damage the wrong choices can cause on a man. Satan has not changed his tactics. He is still telling man that the things that God said are not as important and weighty as they are. When God gives man an instruction, it is for his good.

We must take advantage of what Jesus has done, maximize the work of Christ on the cross, and build a sustainable relationship with him. The blood of Jesus ignites a fire in a man’s heart. The nature of sin is a fire extinguisher. There has never been a man who is a successful sinner and is on fire. Men can also lose fire from dabbling in iniquity because they have refused to accept what Jesus has done.

Jesus received thirty-nine strokes on his back. He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement of our peace was upon him. By his stripes we were healed (Isaiah 53: 5). He was given thirty-nine stripes, and all the sicknesses on the earth have been grouped into thirty -nine groups. Our sicknesses were dealt with 2o24 years ago when they flogged him on his back. Nothing happened to Jesus that did not have an implication on our lives. The Bible says, “As your days, so shall your strength be” (Deuteronomy 33:25). A man can serve and be in the purpose of God while being strong and powerful over an extended period of time. When we follow the instructions of God, it is an extension to our lives. No sickness, no disease, depression or anxiety. These are the promises in scripture brought by the blood of Jesus.

They forced a crown of thorns on him, and his head bled so nothing could affect our value in life. We can raise our heads high because we are adopted into the family of a King and God is our Abba. When we do not take advantage of this we are at a loss because the price has been paid.

Men have received the promise to be satisfied with long life (Psalm 91:16). The blood has paid for it. Therefore, we shall live until we are satisfied. A man can stand on the work of the blood of Jesus and say he cannot die. The death of Christ has also paid for our communication. Because of the blood of Jesus, we can call on the Father and he response to us. the Lord says call upon me in the day of trouble and I will answer you (Psalm 50:15).

Many of a man’s biggest breakthroughs and miracles that happen in man’s life are not prayed about. There is a mystery called praying in the spirit. Where the spirit adjusts the prayer and one can pray the right things without knowing. Where a man can speak mysteries, praying things that even you do not understand because you can spoil it.  There is also the mystery called “The Note of Thanks,” where men do not stop praying because of the time. You stop praying when you hear the “Note of Thanks.” Praying until all you can say is “Thank you Jesus,” means that the prayer session is finished. Never top until you get the note of thanks. It is the blood of Jesus that paid for that access to pray and take things to God. That access to intercede.

Read John 19:28-37 to Commemorate the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
